International Students Experience Traditional Maori Culture

On 19th July 2025, GYNZ, in partnership with China's Jinpei Education Institution, invited 65 young students of different age groups to the facility for an immersive New Zealand local culture and public welfare study tour.

The activity centered on traditional Māori culture. The local volunteer team carefully prepared a special hāngī (traditional Māori earth oven) lunch for the children, and everyone shared the authentic meal together. The visiting students were welcomed with a traditional Māori haka (war dance) greeting. The young participants experienced the charm of Māori culture up close, learned Māori dances together, and deepened cultural exchange through interactive engagement. After the meal and cultural experience, the students entered the equine facility, where they had warm interactions with the rescued horses, engaged in an immersive experience of daily care on a New Zealand pasture, and personally took part in animal caretaking. This study tour integrated cultural experience, public welfare practice, and nature-based interaction — allowing the young participants to experience authentic New Zealand local culture while embracing the public welfare spirit of mutual support and kindness.
