On 19th September, the delegation from the Global Youth New Zealand Charitable Trust visited the Youth Public Welfare Station at the Longtan Lake Park in Beijing.
They had a conversation with the Station staff around the co-operation between the two parties regarding youth sport exchange programmes to engage more young people to enhance their physical and mental health by participating more frequently and scientifically in sports. On 28th September, the delegation from the GYNZ engaged with more than 20 young participants in a sport experience activity organised by the Youth Public Welfare Station at Longtan Lake Park. The Chairman and Founder of GYNZ Brendan Revell, also a long serving cricket player in New Zealand, shared his training experience with the young participants to raise the scientific and positive awareness of sports. Also, to emphasise exercise as a significance part of physical and mental health. “We are eager to be part of such activities to bring together young people from both New Zealand and China. To enhance the sports exchange of awareness, mindset and skills, which is meaningful to the sustainable development and mutual understanding of the younger generations from different countries with different growing contexts”, said Mr. Revell.
The GYNZ delegation additionally spent time attending the 2024 Ritan Park Autumn Garden Party in Beijing which runs from 27th September until the 13th October. This is the first year the Autumn Garden Party has been held at Ritan Park, one of the most famous and historic public parks in Beijing. It provides a great opportunity and window for domestic and international tourists to have an immersive experience in Chinese traditional culture.
