Started from November, the Global Youth New Zealand Charity recently supported the local Sanda Club Sanbukai to launch public courses on youth self-defense skills in Hamilton, New Zealand, attracting 45 youths to participate.
The courses aim to empower the youth from the local community by equipping them with essential and practical self-defense techniques as well as knowledge about the Chinese culture of the martial arts. “We are thrilled to collaborate with Sanda Club San Bu Kai on this important initiative," said Brendan Revell, the Chairman and Founder of GYNZ, "Empowering young people with self-defense skills not only enhances their safety but also builds their confidence and resilience, which we believe these courses will make a significant positive impact on the youth physically and spiritually."
San Bu Kai is the longest surviving martial arts centre in the Waikato - established since 1981 under Terry Hill. Terry has established himself as a leading referee, judge, coach and trainer in Karate, Kickboxing, Sanda and Mixed Martial Arts (MMA). As Chief Instructor for San Bu Kai Dojo, he is responsible for ensuring quality instruction and officiating with all of his instructors and officials.
